Świnoujście is preparing a true journey through time. On Saturday, residents will see the legendary "Ogórek" bus, the iconic "Maluch" (Maltuch) buses, weapons from the Polish People's Army era, and games that every child once knew in the playground. A retro picnic at Rybaka Square will be one of the main events of the city's birthday celebrations. Organizers have focused on the atmosphere of the 1970s, when Świnoujście was bustling with life and seaside holidays were the dream of millions of Poles. One of the biggest attractions will be an exhibition of period vehicles. Residents will see, among others, the legendary Jelcz 043 "Ogórek" bus, Fiat 125p buses, Maluch buses, Syrena buses, and vehicles from the Eastern Bloc – Trabants and Wartburgs. History buffs will be able to view an exhibition of weapons from the communist era. Among the exhibits will be items on display. P-64 pistols, Makarova pistols, PM-63 "Rak" pistols, AKM rifles, and other items used by the army and militia in the 1970s will also be on display. There will also be reenactors from the Polish People's Republic (PRL) and stories from residents who remember those times. Former shipyard and shipping workers, as well as local artists, will perform on stage. Organizers have also prepared a zone for old-time playground games. Children – and their parents – will be able to play hopscotch, bottle caps, rubber bands, and dodgeball. The event will begin in the morning with the arrival of the "Niepieszny" train at the Świnoujście train station. Residents will enjoy an orchestra, a march through the city, and a concert by "Maryla" on board the "Karsibór" ferry. Location: Warszów ferry crossing The iconic "Karsibór" ferry will once again become a symbol of old Świnoujście. During the short cruise, there will be a concert by "Druga Maryla" – the energetic impersonator of Maryla Rodowicz. 11:10 – Retro March A colorful procession of residents, orchestras, and event participants will march through the city streets to Rybaka Square. 11:30–16:00 – "Druga Maryla" Concert. Location: Rybaka Square Greatest hits performed by Maryla's stage impersonator. Concert by the Youth Wood and Brass Band from Goleniów Discussions about old Świnoujście. Reenactors of the Polish People's Republic: stylizations, scenes, and the atmosphere of everyday life from decades past. 6:00 PM "ABBA Concert" performed by Marina Nikoriuk. Location: Concert Shell "ABBA Concert" performed by Marina Nikoriuk will transport us back in time to the legendary group's greatest hits! A musical journey full of emotion, rhythm, and an unforgettable atmosphere awaits us. 8:00 PM Dancing at the Concert Shell. The organizers invite all residents to join in the fun and journey back to the days when Świnoujście was the capital of summer dancing on the Baltic Sea.
