the flowtoys app :: an update and overview

After a couple of years in beta, the improved and updated flowtoys connect app v1.4 is on both iOS and Android app stores as of November 2024. . We’ve been working hard on the app - fixing bugs on the backend, and making the UI and bridge-prop connection flow smoother on the front end. One significant update is that we now have a local music file loader! . This video gives you a quick overview of the main features of the app: [0:00] intro [0:42] getting started/ connecting props [1:54] modes & adjust [2:29] creating lists [2:44] autoplay [3:39] global controls [4:00] prop favorites [4:26] creating shows . The app is free and works on iOS as old as 10.0 and Android OS as old as 10.0. This means apple devices as old as 2013, eg. iPhone 5S, iPad mini 2, or iPad 4th gen, or Android as old as 2019. More significantly, this means you can have an old device dedicated to controlling the app and all your props at a jam or show without having to hand your unlocked phone or tablet to people ;) . Btw for peops who don’t use it yet, the flowtoys app works with all flowtoys connect props - at this time, it’s capsule and vision lights. You will need a bridge to connect your props to the app - just one bridge for an infinite number of props. Future versions of lights will have the bridge built-in, but for now, this enables all flowtoys connect props from 2018 onwards to be app-compatible! .
