GFS Littlefoot Rattery Room Tour 2022

GFS Littlefoot is a SARBU Rattery based in Pretoria, South Africa. Our varieties include blazed, vareiegated and SA Irish; in agouti, black and russian blue; standard coat; standard and dumbo ears. The rats live in Savic Royal cages with Perspex bases. The setup is both bioactive and naturalistic. Hay, kiln dried pine shavings and sugar cane "paper" are provided for bedding material. The bases are custom built and filled with a bioactive cocopeat digging media. The cages have wooden levels, bridges, ladders and hides as well as leather/sisal/hemp hammocks and sputniks for resting. Each cage also has interactive foraging toys, chews and tunnels. The cages have corner litter boxes with kiln dried pine cat litter pellets and pee stones. The maternity setup has a selection of kiln dried pine, hay, sugar cane strips and shredded newspaper so the does can self select nesting material. Cages are spot cleaned daily. Levels, litter boxes and nests are cleaned weekly with F10 disinfectant and dried in the sun. A clean up crew of springtails and isopods are topped off weekly when the soil is turned and moistened.
