Tyler Mitchell on the importance of black artists | THE INFLUENCE

This past summer, Tyler Mitchell made history after being chosen to shoot Beyoncé for the cover of Vogue’s famed September Issue. Tyler is the first African-American photographer — and the youngest at 23 — to shoot the cover of Vogue in its 125-year history, marking it a moment to remember and a giant leap forward in an ongoing journey to improve diversity. He recently dropped by the #canoncreatorlab at Free Space to discuss his journey as an artist and the music, films, and cities that have influenced his photography. ----- #THECREATORCLASS Get involved: http://bit.ly/1KrHwwq // FEATURED Tyler Mitchell //CREW Supervising Producer: Neha Sharma Producer: Travis Richel Camera OP: Gareth Probert Camera Assistants: Joshua Din Sound Recordist: Samuel E Rodgers Editor: Dylan Mitro Sound Design: SNDWRX 'If Beale Street Could Talk' stills courtesy of Entertainment One // SHOT WITH Canon EOS C300 Mark II Canon CN-E 30-105MM T2.8L Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L GET YOUR GEAR http://estore.canon.ca/ FOLLOW http://www.thecreatorclass.com   / thecreatorclass
