The 1980 Melbourne Bookshop Cold Case Nobody Ever Solved
On a June morning in 1980, a 38-year-old single mother called her ex-husband from the bookshop she ran out of her Melbourne home. He heard her speaking to someone, then heard her scream, then heard nothing. When he arrived and forced his way inside, she had been stabbed 68 times. Her killer was still in the building. The crucial evidence disappeared from police storage over the decades that followed. The pillowcase used to clear suspects for 14 years turned out to be from a different homicide entirely. After 44 years, nobody has ever been charged. Make sure you subscribe to get your regular crime fix: / @aucrimes #truecrime #coldcase #crime #crimewatch #mariajames #australiatruecrime
