Desolation Cove Bowdrill with Dave McIntyre
Diving Sparrow Knife Works - http://www.dskw.ca/ High tide was project time. In this video I make a bow drill kit for future use. The Cedar, collected off the beach, was far too damp to attempt to get a coal while I was there. If I had done this during the show I would have had to dry the fire board and spindle above the fire. Randy did a fantastic job with the bow drill on season two after the destruction of his ferro rod. IMO he illustrated the difficulty of using friction fire in a survival situation. It takes skill and determination to overcome the challenge in such damp conditions. Also featured in this video are my Diving Sparrow bushcraft knife and Opinel folding saw. These two make a great combination for bushcraft projects.
