Satan may be satisfied that hypocrites will submit to God in many things, as long as they are faithful to him in one thing. He knows very well that allowing one sin and living in it gives him as much advantage against the soul as if there were many. Satan can hold a man with a single claw. Satan knows that allowing one sin and living in it will ruin all of a man's sweetest duties and services, as a dead fly will spoil the entire contents of a jar of valuable ointment, and like a dissonant string will break the sweetest music's tune.
