WW2 V-44 Knife / Marine Raider Bowie Part 1
The other maker that I Forgot was Chindit out of India…. these are hard to find, they have a ribbed wooden handle. The numbers on the back of the Sheaths are service numbers. The one marker Julien is from a Marine named Robert J. Julien, he was an 0311 and a weapons instructor during WW2. I need to open a FOIA for the service number for the knife Marked Miller. The marsden knife with the sheath marked Borchardt, is from a soldier Stationed in Papua New Guinea during WW2, Arthur George Borchardt. If you’d like to help me find more info about T. J. Miller, service number, W 2107317 …. I’d greatly appreciate it. Anyway, Western and Kinfolks are the least produced V-44 knives. Collins & Co made the majority ad the Legitimus No 18 machete. Hope you found this video interesting, and if you have more to add…. Please do, as I’m no expert and I’d like the correct information. Message me on IG if you find a Kinfolks V-44. Stay tuned for more from my knife! Papa Bear Knives is making the prototype, and another larger company will be involved in the next steps making it a production knife. As of now the knife is Named, “Marine Reaper Bowie/ V-44X.” Thanks. *If you have a buffalo horn handle, I was told to use Neats Foot Oil to care for them, due to the properties of the natural material. I also put a little bit of that and Dr. Jackson’s hide rejuvenator on the leather. Be very careful with the stitching. these were also called Gung Ho Knives” Part 2 V-44 Style Raider Bowies from WW2 Part 2 • V-44 Style Raider Bowies from WW2 Part 2
