Smart Farm: Farmers making a living from farming cactus
The prickly cactus plant which grows in dry and rocky areas isn’t well known as a commercial plant here in Kenya. But a group of farmers in Laikipia County have discovered how to make money by making juice, jam, wine and even extracting oil from the plant. On this week’s smart farm Denis Otieno spent some time in Laikipia and brings us this report.
