President Ramaphosa Leads High-Level PCC Meeting to Address Water Crisis
President Cyril Ramaphosa convenes an Extended Presidential Coordinating Council (PCC) meeting in Boksburg, Gauteng, to address South Africa’s ongoing water crisis. The high-level engagement brings together leaders from national, provincial and local government, alongside organised local government, to coordinate urgent interventions and long-term solutions to stabilise water supply, strengthen infrastructure, and improve service delivery. The meeting follows the announcement made during the State of the Nation Address 2026, where the President established the National Water Crisis Committee (NWCC) to drive a coordinated and accelerated response, similar to the country’s energy crisis interventions. The PCC remains a critical platform for aligning priorities across spheres of government, strengthening intergovernmental coordination, and assessing progress on key national challenges.
