Twi Tenses - Present Perfect(Ayɔasie Kabea)

PRESENT PERFECT /PAST PERFECT (AYƆASIE KABEA) In English, the present perfect is constructed with auxiliary verbs have and has + an ordinary verb in the perfective. e.g I have eaten, he has eaten the past perfect is constructed with auxiliary verb had + an ordinary verb in the perfective e.g I had eaten when he came. In Twi, the verb in present perfect is always prefixed with "a". Example, we know that: 1. Me means I/me 2. Kɔ means to go 3. Mekɔ means I go(simple present/daa Kabea) Now, to say I have gone, we will write 'me' and prefix the verb -'kɔ' with 'a'. Me then loses it's vawel(e) and the 'm' is then written together with the prefixed verb.
