VW Golf R Rear Sway Bar Bushing Replacement DIY (2022-Present Volkswagen Mk8 Golf R, GTI)

►Sway bars use bushings to allow just a little flex and give while holding the sway bar in place. But being made of rubber, they'll eventually wear out. Replacing them in a Mk8 Golf R or GTI is straightforward and inexpensive. When choosing a replacement, you can fit new factoru bushings or install performance aftermarket units. The latter eliminates flex by using a stiffer material, thereby increasing the sway bar's effectiveness and response. The process is the same whichever you choose, so don't be afraid of the upgrade.
