Easy Rice Krispie Treats Recipe: This is the Rice Krispie Treats recipe that actually tastes incredible. Not the basic box recipe. Not the one that tastes like cardboard and marshmallow. This is the version that's been elevated with toasted cereal and browned butter. The best tasting Rice Krispie Treats you've ever put in your mouth. Guaranteed. Toast one entire box of Rice Krispies in a 350-degree oven for ten minutes. Spread them evenly on a dry baking sheet. At the five-minute mark, toss them so they toast evenly. Watch them carefully. If you start to smell them burning, get them out. Brown one stick of Kerrygold salted butter on medium-low heat. This is the second way you're adding incredible flavor. Kerrygold is high fat content and when you brown it, you get those golden brown bits at the bottom of the pan. Two bags of mini marshmallows go right into that brown butter. Stir them around with a pinch of salt. Once everything is melted, add one to one and a half teaspoons of vanilla extract. Mix the toasted Rice Krispies with the brown butter marshmallow mixture. Add patriotic sprinkles and M&Ms. Reserve some for the top. Pack everything into a nonstick-sprayed 9x13 baking dish. Make it compact so the pieces hold together when you cut them. Sprinkle the reserved sprinkles and M&Ms on top. Pat them down with your hands so they stick. Refrigerate for twenty minutes to set.
