The fabled DKA. This condition is the reason why it’s so important to monitor for the signs of Diabetes in pets (increased drinking and urination, increased appetite, and weight loss). Having your pet diagnosed as a diabetic is not a fun diagnosis, but it’s even worse if you find out because your pet went into a potentially fatal crisis that requires very intensive care.
