Cartwright Hall And The 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻, Bradford

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻. In this instalment of Bradford Through The Lens, 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝘁 (local historian) talks about an amazing journey that involved an entire Somali village which was re-erected at Cartwright Hall , as part of an opening exhibition celebrating the cultures of the world in 1904. A Somalian women by the name 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗼 𝗔𝗱𝗯𝗶 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹 who was part of the Somali village, passed away while she was in Bradford. "𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱." The dedication of the new memorial headstone (laid in 2004) has a Koranic inscription devised with the help of Bradford Council for Mosques.
