Following the Puuc Route, Yucatan, Mexico: Sayil

This is my last stop on the Puuc Route, before I continue on to Campeche to visit some of the Maya sites there. Sayil is well worth the visit. The Grand Palace is impressive. Also here was discovered the Temple of the Hieroglyphic Doorway with some important writing inscribed into the stone doorway. Some odd sculptures exist here too. You'll have to see for yourself. Next time, I'm on the road to Campeche, stopping to experience a Maya spiritual moment in the Cave of Aktun Asil near Oxkintoc.
