Dumb Decisions Happen, Rarely Accidents | Knife Safety Tips For Idiots Like Me
Welp, I got got pretty good, folks! DISCLAIMER: This video is for educational purposes and is intended to raise awareness that injuries WILL happen in kitchens. Do not watch this video if you are squeamish about cutlery mishaps or potential kitchen accidents. The best way to prevent injuries in your kitchen is not to do stupid things. 1. Don't ever grab a falling or sliding knife 2. Never cut on a cutting board that's not stabilized 3. Use knives for how they are intended 4. Never soak a knife in a kitchen sink 5. Store your knives properly 6. Don't go from knife to knife, expecting them to perform the same without adjusting your technique 7. Never walk around with a knife without letting others know you're moving with a sharp knife 8. Always point a knife tip down when walking 9. In a professional kitchen or at home, if you're walking around others who are prepping, always say behind when you walk by them. (I even have my mother-in-law trained to do this) 10. Never trust a dull knife Don't make dumb decisions with knives and be safe. Accidents rarely happen, so take accountability for your kitchen mistakes. Cheers, Chef B - Occasional Dumb Decision Maker
