Oshawa Waterfront Ride : Lake Ontario, Parks, Beach & Peer And Pioneer Cemetery

Thought I would do a little video around the local waterfront area...Starting at the site of the old marina then over to Ed B. park to check out the Indigenous Cultural celebrations happening there, then on down to the beach & peer...Head up through Lakeview Park over to the pioneer cemetery, ending at Bonnie Brae Point..... The Oshawa waterfront area is located where Simcoe Street south ends at Lake Ontario.... The original recreational marina in Oshawa closed in 2002, and subsequent plans for a new private-sector marina have been canceled...Currently, the Oshawa harbour area primarily functions as an industrial port overseen by HOPA Ports, leaving no functional public marina for recreational boaters in the city.... Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park is the City of Oshawa’s newest addition to the waterfront parks system...The Waterfront Trail runs through the site and expands upon Larry Ladd Harbour Trail, and a pedestrian bridge over the Oshawa Creek... It features an amphitheater, stage and seating, a network of concrete and asphalt pathways, green spaces and a Garden of Human Rights.... The Indigenous Cultural Celebrations offers a variety of performances and interactive workshops led by First Nations, Inuit and Métis presenters and storytellers...This is 3nd year for the event...The event marks the beginning of Indigenous History Month, celebrating the rich and diverse cultures of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island.... Oshawa's Lakeview Park & Beach and its surrounding 44 acres were deeded to the town in 1920 by Col. R.S. McLaughlin and General Motors...Originally dotted with summer cottages and home to unusual attractions like a zoo, the beach has evolved into a premier local recreation area....
