New Biopic Portrays First Black Women Wrestlers
In this video, I share details about the new biopic “Queen of the Ring,” which portrays the Black women who integrated pro wrestling in the 1950s: Babs Wingo, Ethel Johnson and Marva Scott. In my documentary "Lady Wrestler," I interviewed Ethel Johnson and Jeff Leen, the Washington Post journalist who wrote the book that the movie “Queen of the Ring” is based on.
