In this video, she talks about living with tethered cord syndrome, struggling with the health care system, mental health, and being a queer, disabled woman. In this interview, Claire goes into depth on her painful journey of being diagnosed with Tethered Cord Syndrome at 11 years old to living with a visible disability at 22, stepping into her queerness, surrendering to what you cannot control, and how finding community among disabled and queer people who mirrored her experiences, tapped her into her power and enabled her to love life in her darkest moments. In her own words: “I had my life planned out. I was going to have a husband. I was going to have kids. I was going to have the house. I was going to put my head down. I was going to go to school. I was going to finish in four years very quickly. I realized that you're not in control of your life. I feel like my life has already pre-planned out and I'm just learning as I go the steps to go forward.” About StyleLikeU If you agree that facades separate us and being radically honest brings us together, please take a moment to subscribe to our channel and share this video with any friends or family who could benefit from feeling less alone in their journeys with mental health.
