PETITTI Calathea Spotlight | How to Grow & Take Care of Prayer Plants & Peacock Plants

This gorgeous tropical foliage houseplant is a relative of the prayer plant but with larger, oblong to oval, showier leaves. These plants come in a variety of variegated in several hues of green, white, silver, pink and purple with deep purple undersides. For the most common Calathea look, check out varieties like 'Makoyana', Lancifolia (aka Rattlesnake Plant), 'Medalion' or 'FlameStar'. For more unique varieties in texture and color, check out varieties like 'Network', 'Orbifolia', 'Yellow Fusion', or 'Beauty Star'. Calathea grow best in medium, indirect light and average, well-draining potting soil. Remember, they are sensitive to added elements in water so it's recommeneded to use filtered or distilled water for plants in this family!
