This video goes over the basics that have been true to THPS since THPS3. I should clarify a couple things: The type of manual or grind does not effect your balance differently from one another. Yes, initiating a grind increases speed, but staying on a rail does not decrease speed unless it's an uphill grind. However, it's still not beneficial to stay on rails for over .5 seconds in 20 million+ combos. Binding special manuals/grinds/lip tricks is ok if you're going for scores under 20 million. You should bind the tricks that are comfortable for you. -- If you're going to go for scores over 20 million, I'd strongly advise against using them because it eats away at precious grind balance meter time. The longest manuals/grinds you'd want to do are .5 seconds or under, so knowing that: you might get 1,500~ for one grind or one manual at most.
