"Mio padre Giuseppe Pinelli, anarchico e partigiano": il racconto della figlia Silvia 50 anni dopo

Silvia Pinelli was only 9 years old when, on December 12, 1969, her father Giuseppe was invited by Commissioner Luigi Calabresi to follow him to the Milan police headquarters, along with other anarchist comrades. The bomb at the Banca Nazionale dell'Agricoltura had recently exploded in Piazza Fontana, killing 17 people and triggering what was dubbed the "strategy of tension." The eighteenth innocent victim of the massacre was Pino Pinelli himself, who fell from the fourth floor of the police headquarters on the night between December 15 and 16, while being illegally detained for questioning that had lasted more than 48 hours. "A sentence says 'killed by an active illness.' But for us, he was killed the moment he entered the police headquarters on December 12," Silvia Pinelli told Fanpage.it, explaining who her father was. If I had to explain who Pino was to a young person today, I'd say, "He was an anarchist, a partisan courier, an Esperantist. He probably wouldn't even know what the term meant, but it would be a way of explaining that it was that universal language that wanted to break down linguistic and even mental barriers."
