The municipality of Caminha once again celebrates the Pilgrimage of St. John of Arga, one of the most emblematic festivals in Alto Minho. The night of August 28th to 29th is marked by the excitement of pilgrims and visitors, music, food, and drink, with a highlight being 'chiripiti,' a drink made with bagasse and honey. More than one hundred pilgrims set off today for the monastery to fulfill the tradition of three circuits of the chapel and offer alms to the saint and the devil. Every year, this pilgrimage attracts thousands of people, who celebrate the tradition and the true spirit of Minho.
