HS Football - Rancho Cucamonga vs Oak Hills - Condensed Game 4K

A huge matchup in the IE as 2-0 (25th ranked) Oak Hills took on 0-2 (12th ranked) Rancho Cucamonga. The Cougars were back at home after two tough losses to open the season 0-2. Rancho Cucamonga was looking for some home cookin’ to get in the win column and they got it started from the opening kickoff. A great return to the Oak Hills 38 setup up the first play from scrimmage, Jacob Chambers connected with a wide open Semaj Smith for the games first score and a 7-0 RC lead. On the Bulldogs first drive, Oak Hills QB Jacob Webster was picked off by Andre Johnson II who ran it back 35 yards for the pick 6 and less than 2 minutes into the game Rancho Cucamona jumped out 14-0. In the 2nd quarter Oak Hills was in the red zone threatening, but a big sack forced the Bulldogs into a field goal attempt. Jorge Mejia knocked it in from 37 yards out to put the Bulldogs on the board 14-3. From that point on the game turned into a defensive slugfest. Rancho Cucamonga used a relentless pass rush to keep Webster and the Bulldogs offense off balance. In the 3rd quarter Oak Hills had a chance to close the gap, inside the 10 yard line, Webster’s pass was picked off by Chance Marshall. Oak Hills defense would keep them in the game in the 2nd half keeping Rancho Cucamonga’s run game in check. The Cougars had problems moving the ball on the ground and didn’t have many opportunities to throw the football. In the 4th quarter Oak Hills once again would have a chance to score but came up short. Inside the 15 yard line, Webster rolled out to pass with nowhere to go, scrambled for the pylon but fumbled the ball into the end zone for a touchback and the Bulldogs 3rd turnover of the game. Oak Hills would have one more chance late in the 4th quarter, but the Cougars swarming defense led to another interception by Chance Marshall to seal the victory 14-3 for Rancho Cucamonga.
