My accidental capture of Singapore Airshow 2026 - Day 1

During my one day layover in Singapore, I checked into the Crowne Plaza at Changi hoping to do some casual plane spotting. No runway view room available, which was disappointing, but I figured I’d grab a drink at the bar anyway. The guy next to me looks at my t-shirt that says “Easily distracted by airplanes” and goes, “Are you here for the show?” I said, “What show?” “The Singapore Airshow. Biggest show in Asia. Starts tomorrow.” I just stared at him. I couldn’t believe I didn’t know this. Then I learned the first four days weren’t open to the public. So the following morning I took a taxi to Changi Beach to salvage the day with some spotting. I saw a massive group of people with giant lenses and assumed they were there for airliners. They weren’t. They were waiting for airshow rehearsals. By pure luck I had walked into the right place at the right time. I ended up watching Singapore Airshow practice from a public beach. It felt like winning a lottery I didn’t even buy a ticket for. Everything in this video was captured on my OPPO Find X9 Pro phone camera. No tripod. No pro rig.
