Gioco del Ponte 2026 , Mezzogiorno conquista nuovamente il Ponte di Mezzo

Gioco del Ponte, Mezzogiorno celebrates for the third consecutive time A "deal" was needed, awarding victory to the Southern side after twenty minutes Mezzogiorno conquers the Ponte di Mezzo and defeats Tramontana for the third consecutive time. This time, as in the last two battles, the "deal" between the Parties' national teams was needed to decide the winner of the 2027 Gioco del Ponte. After a battle lasting over 20 minutes, the Southern side prevailed over Borea's men. Mezzogiorno thus averts the risk of being overtaken. Since 1568, in fact, the Mezzogiorno side has won 72 times, while the Tramontana side has won 69, and the Gioco has ended in a "peace" nine times. "Congratulations to the fighters, the participants, and everyone who made this extraordinary evening possible," said Pisa's mayor, Michele Conti. "The Gioco del Ponte is the most authentic way Pisa celebrates itself. Over the years, we have invested heavily, both financially and organizationally, to grow this event. We have updated costumes, armor, accessories, and equipment, and enhanced the historical parade with its nearly eight hundred participants. The Gioco del Ponte is a tradition that, after past interruptions, has now returned to being a solid, well-attended event, deeply felt throughout the city. The greatest satisfaction is seeing thousands of Pisans, many young people, and countless families enthusiastically experience this day, supporting their respective Parties, along with the many tourists who choose Pisa for its historic traditions. This is a sign that the work done is bearing fruit and that Giugno Pisano has become a major series of events capable of conveying our city's identity: from the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics to the Luminara, from the Palio di San Ranieri to the Gioco del Ponte. I would like to thank Deputy Mayor Filippo Bedini, the municipal employees, the volunteers, the Parties' Magistrates, the combatants, the participants, and the countless women and men who, with passion and expertise, have worked to make this edition a success. They all deserve credit for giving Pisa an extraordinary evening, worthy of its history and identity."
