Pare de Tagarelar - Papaji

By Papaji (1913-1997) . Papaji, whose real name was Hariwansh Lal Poonja, was an Indian spiritual teacher who was born in 1913 and died in 1997. He became known as Papaji, which means "dear father" in Hindi, due to his loving and nurturing nature. Papaji was a disciple of Ramana Maharshi and followed the tradition of Advaita Vedanta, which emphasizes nonduality and the pursuit of the true Self. . Papaji is remembered for his simple and direct approach to self-inquiry and the search for truth. He encouraged his followers to question their identities and limiting beliefs, seeking the pure essence of consciousness. Papaji believed that enlightenment was available to all and that true freedom could be found in recognizing our divine nature. . His method was not to tell people to meditate and practice, setting some grand spiritual experience as a distant goal. Rather, it was to show them that awareness of the Self is possible here and now, if sought in the place from which the mind and the sense of individuality arise. During his lifetime, Papaji attracted a large number of disciples and followers, both in India and abroad. His teachings were transmitted orally and also recorded in writings and recordings. Although he is no longer physically present, Papaji's impact continues to be felt by those seeking self-discovery and spiritual fulfillment.
