Brief non-Brief History of AI Coding

a look at the AI LLM timeline to date and its impact on software engineers. I walk through major models year by year, from GPT-1 to now, covering (briefly) their training costs, Claude vs OpenAI, DeepSeek's impact in 2025, pricing changes in 2026 I decided to leave out many opensource/local LLM releases, due to time constraints and, in my opinion, their lack of impact.
