Design of Ramp-Comparison Triggering Circuit For Controlled Rectifiers.
This video describes the basics of designing a ramp-comparison based trigger circuit for controlled rectifiers. The principle of comparing a synchronised ramp with a control voltage to produce a time-shifted triggering signal is quite popular in power electronics, and is used in many commercial integrated circuits. This is one of the experiments in the undergraduate power electronics laboratory in many Indian universities. A second video will demonstrate the implementation.
