Inland across the continent - We sail the Danube from Marina Schlögen to our destination, Marina Kuchelau in Vienna. Our sailboat Squib, a Catalac 9M, is showing its age; the paneling is partially hanging off the ceiling, the paint is peeling, the electrical system is outdated, and a refit is due. However, earning a living and commitments don't allow us to work on the boat in Greece for months at a time. So, in 2018, the idea was born to bring Squib to Vienna, where we have access at all times, the purchase of materials can be handled in our native language, and everything else continues as usual. We set off for Vienna in 2018, but engine failure in the Strait of Messina forced us to abort the transfer trip. With two completely overhauled engines and a new equipment carrier, we set off for the South of France at the beginning of July. Unfortunately, we only had two months for the entire journey, so most of the time was spent covering ground. But sometimes we took the time to linger and take a closer look at places. On September 4th, we arrived in Vienna, having covered 980 nautical miles and 2,120 km across European waterways. Since then, Squib has been moored in Vienna's Kuchelau marina, and the refit has already begun.
