However, these remained hobbies. Having grown up in her mother's workshops since infancy, Canan chose her mother's profession. She completed her secondary education at Şişli Terakki High School. She studied textile management in London for two years. Her intention was to move to Paris to pursue her mother's profession. She learned French and studied for one year at the Federation Fashion School (École Superior de l'Mode) in Paris. She graduated from the French Sainte Pulcheri School. She began her career in the boutique her mother opened in the Trabya Hotel. Following her mother Mualla Özbek's advice, "You can't be a boss without being a worker," Canan Yaka began working in Vakko's women's department and worked there for three years. With this experience, she turned to menswear in 1974 and opened her store in the Yılmazlar Passage. With her inner creativity taking over, Yaka began working with her mother in 1979. After a long relationship, Canan Yaka married singer Selçuk Ural in 1968. With her striking stage costumes and successful shows in the 1970s, Selçuk Ural became the "local Johnny Hallyday" in the hearts of young people. Canan Yaka, whose real name was Nazlı Canan, was the daughter of Mualla Özbek, one of Türkiye's most renowned tailors. In an interview with Seral Cumalı from Posta, Selçuk Ural said: "It was 1968." I'm 20-21. At the peak of my fame, I married my daughter's mother (Canan Yaka). There's a funny story. One day, Canan said to me, "Let's go to my mother's boutique." Her mother, a mualla Özbek, was a renowned tailor of her time. We went, and I saw Belma Simavi and all. "What happened?" I asked, and she said, "We're getting married." The registrar was there, ready to go. That's how we got married. Our daughter, Aslı, was born in '69. We divorced in '72. However, Canan and Selçuk divorced in a single hearing. Aslı's custody was awarded to her mother, with alimony of 3,000 lira per month. Then the issue of "custody" came into play. Because Ural didn't pay the 3,000 lira per month, the 12th Enforcement Office collected 202,000 lira, a total accumulated over the past seven years, through seizure. The custody case he filed was finalized in 1982. The decision stated that the father had no interest in his child, and it was decided that Aslı would grow up with her mother. Aslı was torn between two choices throughout her life. She had an introverted personality. While living with her mother, Aslı witnessed three significant relationships.
