Negative public opinion regarding independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon's return to the People Power Party appears to be dominant. According to the results of a public opinion poll conducted by Gallup Korea from the 14th to the 16th targeting 1,003 voters aged 18 and older nationwide and released on the 17th, 28% supported Rep. Han's return to the People Power Party, 37% opposed it, and 35% reserved their opinion. When looking at only People Power Party supporters (258 respondents, margin of error ±6%p), opinions were evenly divided within the margin of error, with 42% in favor and 44% opposed. Even within the conservative base, support for the return was high among "slightly conservative" (228 respondents, ±7%p), with 42% in favor and 34% opposed; however, among "very conservative" (55 respondents, ±13%p), the sentiment was mixed, with 38% in favor and 53% opposed. By region, opposition to Rep. Han’s reinstatement to the People Power Party was dominant across all regions, but in the Bu-Ul-Gyeong area, the figures were nearly even, with 34% in favor and 35% against. In the PK region, opposition (44%) was higher than support (26%), exceeding it by a margin outside the margin of error. This survey was conducted via telephone interviews using random sampling of virtual mobile phone numbers. The margin of error is ±3.1%P at a 95% confidence level. The response rate was 11.1%.
