Lakota Language Initiative at Pine Ridge
Carleton students Sydney Botz '19 and Haley Grable '20 spent the summer of 2017 working with Peter Hill '00, founder & coordinator of the Lakota Immersion Childcare at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Hill and his colleagues at Thunder Valley CDC (www.thundervalley.org) are working to revitalize Lakota language and culture by creating and developing educational curriculum for the next generation of fluent speakers.
