Sadhu Bela Mandir Pakistan | Sadh Belo Temple Sukkur Sadh Belo, also spelt as Sadh Bela, Sat, is an island in the Indus River near Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan that is famous for its highly revered Hindu temples. The temples are associated with the syncretic Udasi movement of Sikhism. The island is famous for Teerath Asthan which is the biggest Hindu temple in Pakistan. After the partition of Pakistan and India many Hindus remained settled in the country Pakistan. There is no doubt some of them shifted to India and other countries but still there is minority present in Pakistan. Sindh consists of many significant religious places specifically the place of Sukkur and Rohri city no matter what religion it is, whether Islam or Hinduism. Discussing specifically about the temples and Hinduism a temple is very popular and ancient in the name of Sadhu Island or sadh Belo. In Urdu language, it is called Sadhu Bella. It is established in the year 1823 by Swami Brakhandi Maharaja. It is situated located in Sukkur on Indus River. Thousands of the Hindus from inside and outside of Pakistan visit this Sadh Belo for their wishes and prayers especially they mostly visit this place for the celebration of the anniversary of Swami Brakhandi Maharaja. The duration of celebration is about 3 days initiating from Sunday with the Hawan (Agni Pooja) a kind of worship deployed on fire and recitation of Guru Granth and Geeta. When baba Brakhandi Maharaja came in this sacred place Sadh Belo he was merely 15 years old and he lived here until his death at the age of 60 years. It has very beautiful architecture; the walls of the temple are adorned with the carving on marble on which their gods’ sculptures are portrait in a very unique way, the temple consists of lawns as well and so many distinctive symbolic materials are placed there which in accordance to their religion used by their gods. The temple covers an enormous area and its structure is less contemporary and more persuasive. There are various gods’ sculptures present and Hindus perform several kinds of prayers on different events. Other than that, there are forty-eight rooms present to facilitate tourists and a library is also located where thousands of books are present about numerous subjects and topics relating to Hinduism especially about the Agni Pooja, Ganesh Pooja, etc. The security network is very tight. Nobody can visit the temple without having permission, there is a proper proposed way to receive permission from Hindu punchait who will permit you or could reject your proposal that not to come in the temple. Mostly getting permission for non-Hindus is very hard because of the security system because Sadh Belo is the largest temple in the country Pakistan. Sadh Belo is not a mere single temple but it contains more than nine temples of several gods and Hindu people give priority to pray in Sadh Belo and even they throw the Asthiyan of dead body there because it’s their faith that if they do so they will get Sawab from there gods. Currently, the Sadh Belo was offered a package by government to build more rooms and facilities by observing the growing numbers of the tourists and to construct a wall to protect Sadh Belo from flood. Afterwards the numbers of rooms were increased to 76 and 5 huge halls were built, other than that minorities of Hindu are also facilitating the temple and looking after it in a well manner and with their such great efforts, Sadh Belo became popular in the entire world. Sadh Belo is an island on Indus River very close to the city of Sukkur. There is a Hindu temple on the island which was founded in 1823 by Swami BakhandiMaharajUdasi; it is one of the main tourist attractions. The route to the temple is through the river on a boat, which provides the tourist with a pleasurable experience and scenic view of River Indus. You need to take permission from Aukaaf Department.. and then take a boat to reach this place....the Hindu caretakers at the place tell you the history of the place and guided tour for the premises....Strongly recommended to visit the place in case you are in Sukkur The temple is spread over nine acres, houses separate places of worship for men and women, a library with books on religion and Hindu mythology, segregated bhandars (dining rooms), and a huge garden. The administration has also preserved the living quarters of Maharaj and his disciples.
