[Great sound] Maria Callas & Giulietta Simionato, a perfect blend in "Oh! rimembranza" (Norma)

Maria Callas and Giulietta Simionato, together in their historic performances at La Scala in 1955, sing the first duet scene of Norma and Adalgisa (and actually my favorite one): "Adalgisa!... Alma costanza... Oh! rimembranza... Ah! sì, fa core". Apart from one discrete flaw in a high note sung by Callas, this is a virtually perfect interpretation, both the soprano and the mezzo gifted with unique and rich voices that blend extremely well, and with the most remarkable artistry in vocal and expressive aspects. The humanity, be it strong or vulnerable, that Callas convey in each vocal line is very touching and enhances the beauty of Bellini's profound score.
