BRAINIAC - Wild, Inventive Synth Punk That Needs To Be Remembered

I'll just let the almighty John Peel describe these guys: "From down in the basements of Dayton, Ohio, come Brainiac - 4 young men ready to take on the world, armed with tunes, a sense of style and looks to die for. Brainiac's live show explodes with ferocious, high-intensity, jerky guitar shudders and pounding psycho pop. Songs are played at sound-shattering levels and when you see them lurch, grind and all but spontaneously combust on stage, you'll know that Brainiac are here to bring life to the classic misunderstood punk youth aesthetic. We wanna hear them." Granted, he was reading out a press release that the band may have written themselves, but let's not let that get in the way of things. A documentary on the band premiered at the prestigious SXSW festival this year, but Brainiac are still a very long way from recouping the acclaim they deserved but missed out on due to the sudden death of their frontman. I hope this video can make up for a little bit of that as well.
