K9 Sniffs Out 30 Pounds of Meth From Mexico

This guy was a drug runner for one of the Mexican cartels. He lived in the Baja California state in Mexico and drove across the border and through Los Angeles and Flagstaff, Arizona and somehow found his way into Winslow, Arizona where he was pulled over. It’s very likely he was headed to Albuquerque , New Mexico which is a major distribution hub for the cartels. It’s interesting that he actually drove his own vehicle which had Mexican license plates on it, typically we see these runners in rental cars that have American plates. His story made very little sense, he claims to be a mechanic that works on motorcycles and said he had driven to Winslow, Arizona to pickup some mororcycle helmets…It’s about a 10 hour drive from the area in Mexico where he resided. As the deputy mentions in the video, he could have gotten helmets in Los Angeles and that is a much shorter drive for him. He is asked for consent to search the vehicle, he refuses..That prompts a K9 sniff search by Kilo the K9 which alerts to a positive hit. The deputy then finds about 30 lbs of meth in a bag in the fron passenger seat. He was charged with transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and possession of dangerous drugs. Sentenced to 3.5 years in state prison followed by deportation back to Mexico.
