KIBBE ARCHETYPE System, explained! The Kibbe Archetype System, commonly known as the ‘Kibbe Body Type System’ (but that’s the wrong name) is an image system designed to create harmony with the natural characteristics of a woman’s body. If you’ve ever heard someone say: “I’m a flamboyant gamine” or a “Theatrical Romantic” or a “Flamboyant Natural”... they are talking about their Kibbe Image ID! If you’re looking to learn how to dress for your body type, learning about the Archetypes that David Kibbe identified can be a super useful tool - but there’s a catch! Arriving at your correct archetype can be incredibly challenging, and even though there was a Kibbe Body Type Quiz that circulated a few years ago, the quiz has been disproved by Kibbe himself. As far as I know, the Kibbe Verified Celebrities are the only people confirmed to be the correct archetypes… and it’s not a very size inclusive list. I tried to put together for you the most basic of the Kibbe concepts (ying and yang, the style families, etc), so that you can get an idea of how the system works. Think of this as a “Intro to Kibbe”, “Kibbe 101” video, or perhaps a “Kibbe for beginners” video. But please keep in mind, this is a VERY nuanced system, and I am only touching on the very very basics!
