Public Hearing on the proposed land use ordinance, at The St. James Parish Council Meeting

This Public hearing took place on June 3rd, 2026 and is one of two, for the new proposed land use ordinance that would rezone residential and agricultural land in the small town of Romeville, in St. James Parish, Louisiana. By rezoning agricultural and residential land to industrial it would threatened the historic black community that has lived in this area for over 300 years. Romeville, already sandwiched in by industry would cease to exist. We ask you to stand with us on this fight. Inclusive Louisiana is an Environmental Justice Organization based out of St. James Parish. They are fighting for a clean, sustainable, equitable environment in Louisiana for all residents.
