Entré a las librerías más exclusivas de Lima

Are Peru’s most expensive bookstores actually better… or do they just sell status? In this vlog, I visit some of the most expensive bookstores in Peru to find out what really matters: book selection, editorial curation, atmosphere, and the kind of reader each place seems designed for. I went to Book Vivant, Librería Sur, and Casa República without prejudice and without fighting over prices. My goal was simple: to understand what each bookstore is really offering beyond the label of “exclusive.” At Book Vivant, the space feels refined, curated, and carefully designed for a certain kind of reading experience. At Librería Sur, there is tradition, memory, and even an antiquarian section that turns the visit into something deeper than a simple purchase. At Casa República, inside a hotel, the bet is different: Peruvian literature in translation for tourists and readers looking for a gateway into the country. By the end of the video, I tell you which one I would recommend depending on the kind of reader you are: someone looking for new releases, editorial depth, literary history, or a first entry point into Peruvian literature. So the real question is this: when you buy books, are you paying for quality, criteria… or experience? Leave a comment and tell me: would you pay more for a better-curated bookstore?
