Reaction/Comparison - Hello vs Ace Frehley - New York Groove - From Glitter To Hard Rock To Disco

This is a reaction/comparison video of Hello and Ace Frehley performing the Russ Ballard penned song "New York Groove". Hello, a glitter band from the UK, recorded and released the original version in 1975 making it a big hit in their native country. Their original starts with the continuous bass drum boom followed by harmonica. The lead vocalist has a very pleasant delivery and plays some sweet lead guitar. Three years later in 1978, Ace Frehley records a cover of the song for his first solo album, releases it as a single and comes up with a hit in the United States. The continuous thumping of the bass drum is mimicked but gone is the harmonica replaced by lead guitar. The vocals are much heavier aka hard rock and more guitar is present. Overall both versions are fun and exciting and reminiscent of the disco age! Enjoy ...
