The Korean instructor I was supposed to take the Open and Advanced certification courses with ended up not coming on the day we were supposed to visit the Blue Hole, which he had always emphasized during class. The night before, he partied until 2 a.m. and didn’t show up at all. So I went to the Blue Hole with a young Egyptian instructor I had never met before. We waited at the shop for more than 40 minutes while the Korean instructor was completely unreachable. The shop owner had to urgently contact him and check the equipment before we could finally leave for the Blue Hole. Because we left late, the Blue Hole was already crowded with cars and people, and all the scheduled activities ended later than planned. Honestly, personally, I didn’t find the Blue Hole, the symbol of Dahab, as special as I had expected. It was more like, “Is it really worth it…?” Also, although I had applied for a two-person class, suddenly one more person was added, and I was only informed about this the evening before, while coming from Cairo to Dahab, through a group chat message. During the four days of class, the instructor never arrived on time even once. I even mentioned a refund, but the next day he was completely unreachable and didn’t show up at all.
