We Took a Homebuilt Overland Trailer & 4x4 Ambulance to the Top of Mt. Lemmon!

Need a break from the daily grind? So did we. In this adventure, we escape the Arizona desert and head high into the cool pines of Mount Lemmon near Tucson for a relaxing weekend of dispersed camping at nearly 9,000 feet. Towing my custom homebuilt overland trailer behind my Jeep Wrangler, we meet up with a friend driving his incredible 4x4 converted ambulance and explore a camping spot we've never visited before—Soldiers Camp. The weather keeps things interesting with rain rolling in on the drive up, but that's all part of the adventure. Once camp is set, it's time to slow down and enjoy everything that makes overlanding so rewarding: great food, our dogs exploring the forest, a warm campfire under the towering pines, and even an MMA fight projected onto a giant outdoor movie screen. Sometimes the best adventures aren't the longest or the most extreme—they're the ones that help you disconnect, reset your mind, and appreciate the outdoors with good friends and great company.
