[Exclusive Interview] *The Magic Hour*: Tse Kwan-ho X Anson Kong X Eric Kot "I greatly admire Koki Mitani's scripts and works. I've read his *The University of Laughter*, which is truly excellent, and I really wanted to act in that play. This time, the director told me it was *The Magic Hour*, and I immediately watched the movie again. I felt it wasn't just a comedy; after laughing, it made you reflect on many details, which was very challenging." Newly crowned Best Actor Tse Kwan-ho, stepping onto the stage for the first time since winning the award, couldn't hide his anticipation. Produced by Dharma Studio, the stage play *The Magic Hour*, adapted from the film of the same name by Japanese comedy master Koki Mitani, will officially premiere this June. Featuring a double Best Actor winner Tse Kwan-ho (Brother Hao), the maverick Eric Kot (Ah Ge), stage queen Vee Rosa, popular idol Anson Kong (AK), veteran actor Lu Wenjie, and rising star Cai Xiaotong, this new combination has already generated much discussion. "While Mitani's script was certainly appealing, another reason was the cast and crew. Initially, I didn't know the general plot, but the boss and director had already mentioned the cast members, including Hao Ge and Ah Ge. I thought this cast was very interesting, so I immediately agreed." When asked why he participated in the series, AK frankly admitted that he was initially attracted by the cast and crew, and hoped to experience various unforgettable "magical moments" with the other characters in this absurd journey. Ah Ge pointed out that this time the content was localized, set in Hong Kong, telling stories of underworld feuds involving fruit markets, gangsters, and Hunan triads, which he found incredibly exciting. He jokingly admitted he was "tricked" into joining the project: "The boss said he had the rights to Mitani Koyuki's comedy script and wanted to adapt it into a Chinese version, starring Tse Wai-ho, AK, and Vee Rosa. I agreed immediately. Later I found out I was playing the most tragic victim." "I'm Tse Kwan-ho," he corrected Ah-Ge, "Looks like you really were tricked." Ah-Ge looked surprised; at the time of the interview, rehearsals hadn't even begun, and it seemed everyone was already confused about the truth behind the "scam." A deception within a deception, a scheme within a scheme "He's been in the industry for years but hasn't achieved anything. His passion is top-notch, but his acting is mediocre." Hao Ge plays Li Qingfeng, a middle-aged actor full of passion for acting but whose acting is "hard to describe": "I think I acted pretty well, but actually a little over the top. Until AK came to me, I naturally thought this was my 'magical moment,' so I immediately participated, then got scammed, and then I scammed others..."
