Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) Learning Session
You are invited to a virtual learning session exploring key findings from SAR Lisa and the Thematic Safeguarding Adults Review involving Max, Claire and Iliya. These reviews highlight critical learning around self‑neglect, mental illness, substance misuse, exploitation, challenges with engagement, and the importance of clear multi-agency communication and risk management. SAR Lisa’s case emphasises risks linked to drug‑related exploitation, mental health needs, and missed safeguarding opportunities. The Thematic Review reinforces themes of severe self‑neglect, non‑engagement, communication barriers, and the need for persistent, coordinated responses across services when supporting adults with complex mental health needs. This session is open to all staff, with particular relevance for mental health practitioners, care coordinators, crisis teams, drug and alcohol services, MET Police, community safety colleagues, and wider multi‑agency partners involved in safeguarding, risk assessment, and supporting adults with complex needs. We hope you can join us to reflect on the learning and strengthen practice across Greenwich. This event supports ongoing improvement in safeguarding practice across Greenwich and encourages shared learning that we hope leads to better outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
