Un Domingo en La Palangana: Recuerdos y Chamuscas en la Colonia Castillo Lara 🇬🇹

Hey there, friends of creation! Today we went for a walk to a place steeped in history in Zone 7 of Guatemala City: the famous La Palangana field in the Castillo Lara neighborhood. ⚽🏟️ Join me as we reminisce about the good old days while watching a real Sunday pickup game. It's amazing to see how this field, which seems to be in a hole (hence the name!), continues to be the heart of sports for many locals. On this walk we'll see: La Palangana Field: We went down to the stands to watch the classic match between the Colonia and Hamburgo teams. 🏃‍♂️💨 Castillo Lara Neighborhood: We strolled along its newly paved streets and visited the municipality's outdoor gym. La Verbena Neighborhood: We passed by the La Verbena Cemetery and walked along its main streets, getting a glimpse into the life of this area. 🌹 Car tour: We drove past the Monument to the Mother, passed near Kaminaljuyú, and exited via Calzada San Juan and Roosevelt Avenue. This video is sure to bring back memories for everyone who grew up kicking a ball around these fields or who has family in these iconic neighborhoods of our capital. 🏠💙 Did you ever play in La Palangana or live in Castillo Lara?
