Or can these seemingly "good" situations turn into "evil" and calamities due to our flawed relationships with them? However, if something distances us from God, leads us to frivolity, or causes us to oppress our loved ones (such as not inviting guests to the house for fear of defilement, or prioritizing possessions over people), it ceases to be a blessing and becomes a calamity. This is precisely the morality taught by verse 216 of Surah Al-Baqarah.
