Artist Tadáskía recounts her childhood, during which she heard an improbable promise from her father: she wouldn't pull a cart like him. Years later, this daughter of Elenice and Aguinaldo – who grew up amidst contrasts, hardships, and tenderness – exhibits her works at the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in New York. In conversation with Vera Iaconelli, Tadáskía speaks of faith, survival, violence against racialized bodies, the role of imagination and art. She also talks about the falls and repetitions she tries to break.
