In this episode of Megane no Jikan, we take a closer look at Nikon’s newly released photochromic lens, “Color Touch.” When people think of photochromic lenses, they usually imagine lenses that darken into sunglasses outdoors and return to clear indoors. But Color Touch feels a little different from conventional photochromic lenses. Its biggest feature is that the lenses already have around a 25% tint indoors, and then darken even further depending on UV exposure. Rather than feeling like traditional sunglasses, they work more like naturally wearable “tinted glasses” for everyday use.
